GPAG May-June 2026. AT THE TABLE | THE ARCHITECTURE OF CONTROL
Canadian installation artist based in British Columbia creating large-scale drawing, portraiture, video, and installation works that investigate institutions, histories, and systems of control through the lens of marginalized lives, examining law, bureaucracy, governance, and the mechanisms of institutional power within contemporary society.
UNDESIRABLE
Three-channel moving image installation
Undesirable examines the language used by legal, medical, bureaucratic, and religious institutions to classify, regulate, and control queer and trans lives in Canada.
Moving between archival language, historical record, anaglyph imagery, sound, and human testimony, the work traces the tension between institutional authority and the people who have lived within, resisted, and survived its systems.
